A subject near and dear to my heart for many reasons, though one I usually only mention in passing. Life on Mars. Our colder, smaller, less atmospherically endowed sister planet in the Terran System. Does she harbor life? The age old question.

Yes, she does. Am I going to make a compelling case for it? Nope. Not really. Other, smarter, better academically endowed men and women have already done that.

So here it is!

Back in the late 1970's NASA sent our first brave robot friends to Mars, Viking 1 & 2. These pioneering automatons had the goal of snapping pictures and digging in the dirt for signs of life. They carried four different experiments on board for those purposes. Some of those experiments produced results indicating life.

You can look the details up yourself but the experiments involved soaking soil samples with a soup of different chemicals and measuring if any gas was released (to show microbes metabolizing nutrients). Then any gas released would be analyzed and if it looked like life then it would be baked in an oven at amazingly high temperature (1200 F). You know, to see if they kept going. Not surprisingly the activity measured (oh yeah, they got a positive result with the chemical soup free lunch experiment) leveled off and disappeared when they turned the autoclave on (the goal was to sterilize the soil, for control purposes).

Most microbes don't do well around 40 degree's or so outside their normal range. There are exceptions of course, but that seems to be a decent rule of thumb. So then, what was the average temperatures where the Viking Lander's landed? Plus or minus 1 F to negative 178 F. Poor little guys never had a chance.

Then in 2003 NASA picked up on something very interesting, methane in the Martian atmosphere. Why is that important? Methane is an unstable gas and Mars has a very thin atmosphere. Far to thin to retain methane in any measurable quantity for any great length of time. So it was an occasional kinda methane content. How occasional?

Seasonal. Specifically in the Summer time.

It gets better however. That is also when the Martian atmosphere has the highest concentrations of water vapor (hell, clouds even form sometimes). The plumes of methane are most dense in a few regions of Mars (Arabia Terra, Elysium Planitia, and Arcadia Memnonia), all of them equatorial.

NASA didn't want to make a fuss about this but a few months later the European Space Agency landed the Mars Express lander on the surface and confirmed it, effectively shaming NASA into talking about their own discovery.

Those rascally Europeans went a step further a few months later discovering ammonia in the atmosphere. Ammonia also breaks down very rapidly in Mars thin atmosphere, as such like the methane it needs to be replenished from some source.

There are two possibilities.

Geological processes such as vulcanism, plate shifting, etc.. deep within Mars releasing these gasses into the atmosphere. Or life.

The geological theory goes out the window into heavy traffic when you consider that all geological data from the lack of active volcanoes to the not shifting land masses to the extremely weak magnetic field of the planet indicate that Mars is, geologically speaking, dead.

It is possible that there is some hot magma action going on underneath Mars that we just have not observed yet. Fair enough, I will concede that point. It is odd however that this geological activity is on a very specific yearly cycle coinciding with the Martian summer and appearance of water vapor in the atmosphere from melting permafrost.

That leaves life.

There is the issue of water of course, oh wait, even NASA admitted to finding ice under the soil, and then even liquid water when a reporter noticed that the Phoenix lander had some splashed on its visible leg. Which didn't refreeze in the air, it evaporated. NASA then said there could be nothing alive in the soil because we found perchlorate tied up with the oxygen in the water.

Point one. Martian life may not thrive on or exclusively on oxygen. This is Alien life we are talking about. Even if it is microbes. Hell, it might eat that shit up like goth kids eat Count Chocula.

Point two. Perchlorate is found in the soil on Earth. For one in the Gobi desert, which is pretty inhospitable but still supports life. Its also found in 35 US states in the soil and ground water. So far, life continues to exist in most of the continental US.

Most scientists won't point any of this out for fear of ridicule and career suicide. Since I didn't pursue my degree in physics but went into a different field altogether I can sit back and poke fun at the inanity of the cover up all I like.

There is life on Mars ladies and germs. The only two reasons so far I can find for keeping that so poorly under wraps are thus. Fear of society collapsing in a panic, and fear of the Christians not feeling special anymore.

The first one won't happen. Maybe if we were talking about an Alien armada coming to cleanse the world of human life. Sure, I'd panic then. But microbes? I doubt it.

The second I could care less about. Frankly, science has no business holding the hand of any religion and caring about its feelings. Either they will adapt their beliefs, they will pretend it didn't happen, or they will lose their faith. Perhaps that is a little harsh. Perhaps. But isn't more harsh to withhold something of such monumental importance?

Not only would life on mars say, officially from NASA and thus a Western government (India already confirmed exolife last year, after it rained down on them from a comet), that we are not alone, it would say that life is common in the universe.

Why?

Because that means that life originated independently on two different planets in the same solar system. The odds against that are pretty steep, but if it happened twice here, then life must be more common in the universe than we think. It means we are not special anymore, but it also means we are not alone.

And now, Pictures!

Photobucket
Wow, look at that red sky! You see it? Its red! Oh wait, I forgot to alter the color settings on your monitor, gimme a sec... Oh, when I'm done, ignore the color plate. Forgot to crop that out...

Photobucket
So they are telling us the truth 'eh? They aren't hiding anything about Mars? Well, that being the case I was pledging allegiance to the wrong flag. All this time and I didn't know Old Glory was fucking purple.

Photobucket
Ah, bask in the hazy red sky of Mars. Quaid paid all that money for memories of this? It looks like Arizona.

All these pictures came from NASA websites by the way. Some of them are much harder to find now. Go figure. But they have hundreds of thousands. Some slip through.

Incoming objects from space now CLASSIFIED
http://www.space.com/news/090610-military-fireballs.html

Just a quickie at the end, because everyone loves a good quickie. The military & intel groups are no longer sharing data gathered on incoming objects from space with astrophysicists or astronomers. Up until now if their classified satellites picked up meteors hitting the atmosphere they would share whatever they could tell. Trajectory, area of impact, composition, size, etc.. Now, for no given reason, they have stopped. Weird.

The spooks and the military don't want to play nice with the nerds anymore, and science loses out.

High Weirdness of the Day: Radioactive Wasps. No, really.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090612/ap_on_re_us/us_radioactive_wasp_nests_1

Cleaning out an old Manhatten Project site is frought with the sort of peril one see's in 50's science fiction movies, radioactive bugs. This time, its wasps.

While they aren't gigantic, they are full of cessium and cobalt, and of course are wasps so they love to sting. It seems when the site was landscapped they moved in and used mud from an old nuclear fuel storage tank to build their nests.

If you live in Washington state, pray for winter... Well, actually they say most of the wasps are gone. Not dead, just gone. But they don't tend to re-use nests so each successive generation of wasps should be less radioactive than the last, if at all.

Unless of course, they mutate...

Another real update, how about that!

Work and other obligations keep me occupied and away from meaningful time wasteing like my blog, I try. Just for you, my tens of dozens of loyal readers. Maybe I should start a Twitter feed? Nah, I am far to long winded for that.

Tales of High Weirdness, Cold War Paranoia, and Nuclear Espionage.

"Audiences know what they expect and that is all they are prepared to believe in." - The Player, Rosencrantz & Guildenstern are Dead

The Sodder Children: Because West Virginia is just that weird, that's why.

http://www.sodderchildren.com/
http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=139901334
http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=5067563

In the pre-dawn hours of Christmas, 1945, five children went missing from a small town in rural West Virginia. Their disappearance is unsolved to this day. The details of the case are bizarre and more than a little creepy. They are in fact a lot creepy. So settle in for a Christmas story you will not soon forget.

By all accounts George and Jennie Sodder were salt of the Earth people. Prodigious breeders (10 children in total), hard workers, church going, and generally well liked by their neighbors in Fayetteville. Aside from an argument with a man about insurance some weeks prior to Christmas George had, nobody recalls them having difficulties with anyone in town.

That is why it was so shocking that someone set their house on fire shortly after midnight Christmas morning. A house that contained a kindly old couple, all their worldly goods, and nine of their ten children (the oldest son was in the Army).

For ease of evidence collection and to spare you, my dear readers, from paragraph after paragraph of my snide speculating here is a time line of events and evidence. Note that the precise times are remarkably hard to establish in the case so its more a sequence of events than a precise time line.

-Late night, some hours before midnight, Christmas Eve: The five youngest Sodder children (Betty, Jennie, Louis, Martha Lee, and Maurice) plead with their mother to stay up late playing with their new toys. Their mother says OK as long as they do their chores bright and early. They agree and mother heads off to bed.

-Jennie (the mother) is awakened by the phone ringing in the den. The person on the other end is a woman with a strange voice and laugh, unfamiliar to Jennie. The woman asks for someone by name that does not live there (Jennie could not recall the name), laughs when she is told they do not live there, and hangs up. Jennie heads back to bed, but notices the children left the lights on and the front door unlocked.

-Around midnight Jennie & George were disturbed by a sound they likened to "A rubber ball bouncing on the roof". After a few moments they dismissed it and went back to sleep.

-Shortly after they both awake to the smell of smoke. They race downstairs to find the office/den area ablaze, with the fire quickly spreading over the downstairs. They head upstairs for the children. The two oldest join them but not the other five.

-The fire cutting them off from the kids room they head outside for the ladder they keep beside the house for a fire escape. Its not there (the ladder is found the next day, hidden down a hill behind the house). They call out for the children but their cries go unanswered.

-George and the oldest boys run to the neighbors house to call the fire dept. but discover the neighbors phone is dead. Their phone line was cut at the pole, as was the Sodders, 40ft. up. In case you are wondering, yes, the fire escape ladder was tall enough.

-They attempt to drive to town, but both of the families vehicles fail to start. The primary vehicle had been used the day before and ran perfectly. They attempt to use the next door neighbors truck, but it also fails to start. The next day it is discovered that essential parts of all three vehicles engines were removed.

-A bus driver on the highway reported seeing "balls of fire" being thrown at the roof of the house, around midnight.

-The fire Chief is eventually alerted by motorists passing on the highway who see the blaze in the distance, but is unable to rouse the crew or truck until the next day (he did not know how to drive the fire truck).

-After about 45 minutes the house in totally consumed by fire.

-State police and the fire dept. arrive sometime after dawn and begin their investigation.

-The Sodders are told no remains are recovered initially, however that was not entirely true. The investigators found some bones and what appeared to be an organ in the ashes. The fire chief informs the family of the finding after he has buried the organ (he thought it was a heart) on the site of the fire in a box.

-Analysis of the bones shows them to be adult male vertebra, long dead, exhumed from a local cemetery. They had however not been through the fire and were found in a location corresponding to the children's bedroom. The organ turned out to be a beef liver after the Sodders demanded it be exhumed for testing.

-Despite no remains being found the children were declared dead. Their cause of death determined to be immolation/asphyxiation due to fire.

-Further investigation by the Sodders uncovers a half burned rubberized container with a twist off cap near the house. The object is identified by an Army soldier as an incendiary device used by the armed forces at that time.

-A few days later the owner of a motel halfway between the Sodder's house and Charleston, WV swears a statement that Christmas morning he witnessed children that matched the Sodder children's description sharing a room at his hotel with four Italian speaking adults.

-A week after Christmas four of the children and the same four Italian speaking men were identified by a Charleston motel owner as guests of his.

-Sometime later George Sodder saw a girl in a class photo from New York (in a magazine collage) that looked like one of his daughters. He drove to Manhattan only to be turned away from the school without ever seeing the girl. Not surprisingly they had a policy about turning over young girls to hysterical hillbillies.

-In 1968, 20 years after the fire an envelope arrived addressed to Mrs. Sodder. In it was a photograph of a young man bearing a striking resemblance to her son Louis. On the back of the photo were the words "Louis Sodder" "I love brother Frankie." "ilil Boys" "A90132 or 35". After appealing to the WV Attorney general to no avail they hired a PI to search for Louis in the town the letter was postmarked from. They paid him in advance and he went searching. He disappeared. At that point the Sodder Family admitted defeat.

So there you have it. A missing persons case that crosses into high weirdness. From the looks of it the children were not abducted, but were willing accomplices. Personally I think a religious cult of some variety (maybe the Catholics) was involved, to say nothing of the potential connections to La Cosa Nostra (with New York of the day being a haven for Italian immigrants and the Mafia).

The man Mr. Sodder argued with also sat on the medical examiners board that ruled the children dead despite all evidence to the contrary. He yelled publicly that he would ruin George Sodders life. All of this, brainwashing five children, arson, attempted murder, kidnapping, etc, seems a bit much. A little far to go because of some insurance.

Maybe.

http://cryptogon.com/?p=1299

During the waning days of the Bush Administration in '07 a pants-shittingly serious error was made by the U.S. Air Force. Six armed nuclear weapons were flown from Minot AFB in North Dakota to Barksdale AFB, Louisiana. This is the sort of error that people get nervous about, hell, they even woke the President for it.

People were reprimanded for it, there was lots of shuffling of papers and yelling, but the concern blew over quickly as the event already happened. Everyone wanted to know how it happened (security and procedures dealing with nukes are as tight as a virgin nun after all). Nobody seemed to know it had even happened until the bomber was safely secured in Barksdale.

There was just a single lingering problem with the whole affair. One of the nukes appears to be missing.

While this might be a simple clerical error, despite the virgin nun-like security I just mentioned, that possibility seems to be discounted by a few details. Those details being a string of suspicious deaths.

Whose deaths you ask? Why, pilots and loaders from Minot Air Force Base, that's who! How many you say? At least seven at last count.

Seven. Mostly from car accidents and a few "undisclosed" causes of death thrown in for spice. The best part? All within a week of one another.

The story as seen on CNN was first leaked to the Military Times by some Anonymous Air Force personnel. Now Air Force personnel are having a string of tragic car crashes on isolated roads in different parts of the country. Or in the case of a certain Brigadier General Thomas L. Tinsley whose death I have covered before, shooting yourself in the head at an awkward angle after going to sleep.

Now, here is the tricky part. There may or may not be a missing nuke. It seems that the Air Force, the Pentagon, the flight crew, and bases ground crews/loaders, and weapons inspectors cannot agree on how many nuclear-tipped cruise missiles the B52-Stratofortress was carrying. The number keeps fluctuating between five and six depending on who is telling the story at what time. The Air Force does admit that some of those Airmen who are now dead from tragic accidents had stolen some equipment related to these vary weapons. Launch control/trigger modules. Yes, that is right, at least three (set to be replaced) control modules were stolen rather than destroyed.

So to recap we have a transportation gaffe that possibly leads to a lose nuclear weapon, three missing (stolen, admittedly) control mechanisms, a pile of dead Air Force personnel (not a natural or un-suspicious death among them). Am I missing anything?

As an aside, those missiles were set to be re-purposed by their manufacturer (Raytheon) as bunker buster nukes.

This could very well be a preview of a 'Jericho'-esqe fascist takeover/false flag situation. It could be that scenario is planned for the future, or its a plan that got scrapped and the nuke is sitting under a storage building somewhere quietly rotting. Its nefarious purpose to never be fulfilled. It might have been intended for sale on the black market. Maybe it was stolen by a foreign power, bent on using U.S. atomic weapons to start a war (the old frame-up). Maybe it is a clerical error, and the string of thefts, cover-ups, and apparent murders is just a horrid black comedy. A macabre coincidence.

It could be almost anything, but I don't believe in coincidence.

The Doomsday Device, or, How I learned to stop worrying and love creepy numbers stations.
http://www.slate.com/id/2173108/pagenum/all/
http://blog.wired.com/wiredscience/2007/09/soviet-doomsday.html
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radio_Station_UVB-76
http://www.brogers.dsl.pipex.com/page5.html
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Numbers_station

One of the pivotal plot points of Stanley Kubrick's Cold War comedy "Dr. Strangelove" was a Doomsday Device. A Russian fail-safe system that automated their nuclear arsenal in the event of a launch by the U.S. This way even if their chain of command was broken beyond repair, the Soviet Union could still live up to their part of "Mutually Assured Destruction".

Rumors have for decades said that the Russians did indeed build, or attempt to build, such a system. Or maybe even a single device, capable of wiping out all life on Earth. If Mother Russia cannot have it, nobody can, 'eh comrade?

Let me introduce you to Radio Station UVB-76. More commonly known as "The Buzzer". It is similar to a numbers station (automated radio transmissions used to communicate with spies to this day) in that its transmission is continues and bizarre.

Located in a remote area of Russia, about forty miles north of Moscow (Povarovo) The Buzzer broadcasts its message 23 hours and 10 minutes a day (with 50 minutes of downtime at the same time each day presumably for station maintenance). Its message is, not surprisingly, a buzzer. A continuous buzzer. Just before the hour there is another tone for one minute, then the buzzer resumes. This repeats all day, except for maintenance time, every day.

Since it was first noticed by the public there have been three instances of speech being broadcast. Each time it was just a series of letters, names, or numbers for a little while, then right back to the buzzer.

The buzzer is being manually operated, 24 hours a day. The buzz itself is a device sitting in front of an open microphone. You can tell because sometimes you can faintly hear people talking or moving around the room. So whatever purpose it serves it requires a living person to be there to turn it on and off.

My guess is that its a dead mans switch for that very same doomsday device mentioned above. If UVB-76 goes offline for a certain amount of time, someone (or an ancient 1970's computer) somewhere presses "The Button". Possibly a sort of master on switch for the Russian nuclear arsenal, and bang. Maybe its not for their missiles, maybe its for a network of Czar-Bombs (the worlds largest hydrogen bombs, Russia never does anything small) designed to wipe out its cities in the event of invasion.

So it continues to broadcast. Some thirty years later Russian technicians man a lonely post in the wilderness. Repeating an endless buzzer and maintaining an entire radio station for it. They know that should they fail, should the buzzer not buzz, should the voice confirmations not go out at there set times years apart, that they might very well end the world. These lonely drunk Russians stand vigilantly at the gates of hell, maning an infernal machine set in motion for winning a Cold War long over by the most final of means.

When next you drink vodka, raise a shot to these men. Because when you call in sick or hung over your paymasters lose a bit off the bottom line, or your co-workers do a double. If these men falter at their job, we might just see a nuclear hell, a hell where the lucky ones are dead.

+ + +

Real life continues to kick my ass like I owe it money, but things are a little better. As such, you get more of my ramblings. I hope that my tens of dozens of readers enjoy it.

If you do enjoy it, please feel free to comment. I get more responses from 'bots asking me to buy WOW gold from Chinese gold farmers. I don't even play WOW.

The next few posts might deal with the topic of Marilyn Monroe's not-suicide, Project: Stargate (no really, the CIA called something that), how the Monsanto Corp is extorting the Iraqi government to outlaw all crops but theirs, and some of NASA's worst photoshop jobs.

So Steve Fossett did depart our dimension after all, only in a depressingly conventional way. While it seems he did survive an impossible crash, he did not survive his injuries, or exposure, or wild animals.

Rest in peace, Steve. May your adventuring spirit inspire others to not just live life on the edge, but shoot past it as fast as possible. Also, may your example prove to people once and for all that aliens regardless of their origin are probably not benevolent.

A strange creature is stalking remote areas in Argentina's urban sprawl. The residents are frightened, the authorities are concerned, and there is even alleged video tape of them. What has everyone so worried? Gnomes.

It might all be a case of mass hysteria. Then again, film footage of hallucinations is in short supply.

Hoax? Probably, but a weird one. Gnomes? Of all the things to fake in Argentina for attention.

The witnesses who shot the footage in both cases are apparently refusing to leave their homes, for fear of the creatures. In each case the camera gets dropped after a scream is heard off camera. If the videos were not faked by the same people then its an odd coincidence.

It could be a midget, running around the slums at night with a pointy hat and a hand gun. That would make you scream like a girl.

These days The Ministry of Homeland Security has a lot on its plate. Between getting in on drug busts (Narco-Terrorism), nabbing hackers (Cyber-Terrorism), and hanging out in airports stealing peoples laptops (Business Commuter-Terrorism) they have a great many fingers in America's pies. Whats next for this well funded and poorly chartered agency? Border security!

Well, they already do that to. ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) is their shiny new border patrol arm, which handles most of their anti-drug efforts. That sounds fair, right? Drug dealers are like terrorists I guess. I mean, they had all those ads that showed kids buying weed were actually funding Osama's efforts to rule the world or something. So thats good, right?

Well it might be, if not for the fact that the border they are defending is one hundred miles deep. See? I got to the point eventually.

One hundred miles. Sort of like saying the Pittsburgh city cops have jurisdiction from downtown Pittsburgh to Fairmont, West Virginia. Homeland Security is claiming this tiny stretch of area from the borders, including the coastlines as its "Constitution-Free Zone" as traditionally border guards could get away with more-or-less what they wanted in searching your vehicle and person for contraband. The borders are kind of a gray area where your rights too privacy, search-n-seizure, and such are concerned.

DHS liked this idea so much, they wanted to share it with everyone who lives within 100 miles of a border or coastline. Which means about 190 million people. The US population is about 300 million. Nice, eh? Already agents have been testing the waters of their new jurisdiction with alarming regularity and success. The best example so far is a bathroom tile salesman who had his car interior torn out by DHS while he sat in handcuffs next to the road. His crime? They wanted to search his car, since he was at "the border" and he would not consent. The "border" was on the interstate a mile south of San Diego.

The ACLU has a handy map showing the new border area's where you can be subject to whatever DHS feels like. I am still trying to get over the name they are calling it... Constitution-Free Zone. I am sure that will change soon, I can't imagine that will prove to be a popular name.

Iranian cargo ship full of harmless building supplies and minerals (weapons grade refined uranium from China) UPDATE! The UN asks US to clean up the mess.
http://www.tbrnews.org/Archives/a2880.htm#002

So that Iranian ship carrying radioactive material from China back to Iran that was hijacked by Somali pirates that nobody wants to talk about? Yeah it seems the United Nations is asking the US Navy (strictly on the down low) to quietly dispose of it, as most of the pirates are now dead from radiation poisoning and the ship is hotter that my wife in a black mini skirt.

Yeah, I can see how nobody is talking about this. Nothing newsworthy really. Nothing at all. Pirates. Illegal shipments of uranium for nuclear weapons from China to Iran. China, our good buddies whom we owe so much money to, shipping nuke supplies to Iran, our new enemy of the week in the Middle East.

The Chinese are giving the Iranians enough rope to hang themselves with. How long do you think they will sit on nukes before they get antsy enough to use them? Or dumb enough to sell them to someone? Then we go to war again. War costs money. We have no money. Where do we get money? China.

Man, do they have a good racket going or what?

Nothing to see here people, move along.

Adrienne Kinne is one of "Them". She is, or was, an agent for "Military Intelligence" (which from what I can tell translates as "The NSA" in this instance). She is however making a name for herself by whistle blowing about the NSA's warrentless wiretapping program. Concerning, among other things, their tendency to zero in not on terrorist related transmissions, but on phone sex.

According to Ms. Kinne No Such Agency was using Carnivore & Echelon for tracking down lurid bits of communications. Phone calls, e-mails, texts, etc.. and spreading them around the office for entertainment/spanking material. Needless to say, this is a tad embarrassing for the intelligence community. Usually when someone "blows the lid off" something in the deep black world of espionage it relates to murder. Murder, while illegal and immoral, is cool. Well, it's a lot cooler than being the nerd in the tree watching his neighbor undress in the bedroom or scamming free phone sex with a fake credit card. Being James Bond and shooting the bad guy off of a radio telescope is cool, being the old guy jerking off under a raincoat behind two young lovers on the bus is not.

Of course thats not the only impropriety Agent Kinne is talking about, its just the only one the mainstream media will discuss.

The CIA and NSA added the Palestine Hotel to a list of viable targets for the US Military in 2003 during the invasion of Baghdad. The hotel, while outside what would come to be the "Green Zone", was the staging point for a majority of the international press corp (and the unembedded American journalists).

Now its a big building, with a big sign that says "Palestine Hotel", and its in Baghdad to boot. So its easy to see why when the target list came down the pipe a tank crew driving along a bridge nearby fired a few shells into the building. Target of Opportunity they call it.

Several journalists were killed, everyone was both shaken and stirred, and as soon as the hotel was confirmed as shelled the CIA removed it from the list of "kill this as quick as you can" targets. Ms. Kinne says that was entirely deliberate.

The facts seem to support that story. Go ahead and find pictures from that day of the tank crew, take a look at how they feel after firing on unarmed civilians (some of which were American citizens). They did not know. They were told it was a viable military target. They were used to murder innocent people at random. Maybe there was a specific target in mind and it was a clumsy assassination attempt, or maybe it was just malice that lead to the deaths of Taras Protsyuk (Reuters) and Jose Couso (Telecinco) and the wounding of three others.

The US Military has been accused of everything from criminal negligence to murder in this case. If Agent Kinne is telling the truth then they are no more guilty than a gun or knife in a murder. I am not normally what you would call an apologist for the military, but those kids in that tank killed innocent people, and it was not their faults. They get to live with that for the rest of their lives while the nameless suit that is responsible will sleep soundly on a pillow of taxpayer money tonight.

Phantom Clowns 2: Chicago South Side Super Creepy Pony Ride

The Phantom Clowns, one of Americas creepiest historical oddities/urban legends is back. This time a silver sedan and your standard issue child molestation family van are on the prowl on the South Side of Chicago. The very same area Barack Obama started his political career as a community organizer.

Two per vehicle they come, bearing candy, balloons, and wicked grins. Trying to entice children into their vehicles just like in the 1980's. Also just like the 1980's they have yet to actually abduct a child. Well, so far no child abductions can be reliable attributed to them, thats not to say they have not done it.

The last time the clowns stalked the streets of Americas cities we had Satanic Ritual Abuse Syndrome dominating the news cycle. This time its the Presidential election and the collapse of Wall Street. The clowns are showing up in an area with a connection to the Obama campaign, in an area rife with the dealings of Tony Rezco. A man the Obama campaign would certainly like to forget, as Barack's ill-advised land deal with him has been a stick which his rivals have beat him with non-stop for almost two years. Not that there is a connection at all mind you, I just think its weird that out of all the places for this to crop up its right there. Little weird.

Copy Cats? The same clowns? Distraction from something else? Supernatural weirdness? Who knows. It will be interesting to see if it spreads again, like last time.

How big is the universe? Big. Really, really big. Is it infinite? Well, no. Probably not. For as large as it is it might as well be, but its not. What is outside of the universe? Until a few months ago most scientists would shrug and say "probably nothing". Recently however "probably nothing" became "most likely something so fucking weird and scary that your human brain cannot properly conceive of it without going mad".

No, this is not a ham-fisted intro to a Lovecraft story. Rather its a ham-fisted introduction to high weirdness on a universal scale. Dark Flow.

Assume the Big Bang happened. OK. So we have ALL matter and energy in the Universe (even that which is contained inside Steven Seagal) traveling outward from the zero point at impossible speeds. So we have an ever expanding sphere of matter and energy which Al Gore likes to call "The Universe".

Everything inside this "The Universe" is moving at more or less the same speed in predictable directions as its a spherical model. So flash forward about 15 or so billion years and you have everything where it is now. Some things slowed down a bit, some sped up, but aside from various crashes and explosions shaking up the model its all pretty predictable. Right Science? Science says well, um, no. Not entirely.

A few Galactic Clusters (which are not hair metal bands or Little Debbie cakes but rather are giant cloud-like clusters of galaxies) are moving in the wrong directions. In the wrong direction at about 2 million kilometers per hour (our galaxy takes about 200 million years to make a complete orbit around galactic central point). They are not moving how they should be moving, but are moving in a straight line outwards, towards the edge of the observable universe. Once they get there they will then exit reality as we know it.

Thats pretty weird right? It gets better, in the way that Lovecraft's stories get more "hopeful" and "optimistic" at the end. This is being caused by "Dark Flow". A name scientists made up because the only cause for this problem that fits the math is gigantic structures of impossible geometry and material alien to our universe sitting outside normal space and time warping the very fabric of reality. The gravity well of these structures is affecting a certain region of our universe and pulling material (in this case galactic clusters) outside of observable space and time into another, weirder something (its not another dimension, or universe, its just something sitting outside of our universe).

So there you have it. Sleep tight.

http://www.museumofhoaxes.com/hoax/weblog/comments/1158/

The story of the painting can be found in more detail elsewhere, but I shall summarize for my ADD afflicted audience. The painting above, "The Hands Resist Him", was discovered in an abandoned building and taken home by a lovely couple with two precocious children. These children reported strange things in the night with the painting, such as the figures coming to life and playing with them. A little weird. Eventually the parents managed to get infrared photographs of the painting appearing to do just that.

So the story goes.

The artist, Bill Stoneham, says he sold it to John Marley (Jack Woltz in The Godfather) who held it until his death. So far nobody knows for sure how it ended up in the old brewery where the couple who sold it on eBay found it.

Haunted or not, it makes a great story, which drove up the price on eBay, and gained some fame for the artist. Haunting? Maybe. Good marketing? Absolutely.

Blackwater private security contractors working with the DEA to bust medical marijuana dispensaries in California. That's nice. I love the idea of corporate operatives acting as law enforcement officers. Sort of like if you go to Best Buy and smell like weed, then the Geek Squad guys come out and tase you to the ground and haul you off to jail in a big orange SUV.

I would have included a link to the story that had more photos from this raid, but they (The LA Times) took them down. Just like they did the photo above, an hour after it was put up. I guess they didn't feel it was newsworthy after all, so they removed it from the set of pics from the raid. What can you expect from a liberal media, right? Right?

JFK: Fuck the Zapruder Film, the real money shots are in the before and after.

JFK and his then Vice President LBJ (far right, in the white coat) the morning of November 22nd. One of these men knows that day will go down in history, which one would you say?

Photobucket

LBJ and "Lady Bird" Johnson having a moment of levity with Jackie Kennedy just before LBJ is sworn in on Air Force One. Note how uncomfortable everyone else looks.

Photobucket

LBJ smiling at Texas Congressman Albert Thomas, and good old Al winking right back! There must have been such a lively mood on that jet, what with JFK decomposing quietly 40 feet away and his widow sobbing hysterically still soaked in her husbands blood.

Photobucket

LBJ swearing the oath of office, clearly a somber moment. Congressman Thomas is left in the snappy bow tie, and the short seedy fellow left of Al is Jack Valenti, the man you have to thank for essentially creating the MPAA (Motion Picture Association of America).

Excerpt:

Death of a President, by William Manchester, is the authorized version of the Kennedy assassination. Jackie Kennedy gave ten hours of interview; both Look magazine and the German publication Stern serialized it. Jackie asked that certain passages which were "too personal" be removed. According to the Paul Krassner's periodical The Realist, this is one of the passages:

"That man was crouching over the corpse, no longer chuckling but breathing hard and moving his body rhythmically. At first I thought he must be performing some mysterious symbolic rite he'd learned from Mexicans or Indians as a boy. And then I realized -- there is only one way to say this -- he was literally fucking my husband in the throat. In the bullet wound in the front of his throat. He reached a climax and dismounted. I froze. The next thing I remember, he was being sworn in as the new President".

/Excerpt.

When the plane landed in DC and Jackie was asked by a reporter why she had not changed clothes, her response was she wished she had not washed her hands or face, and she kept on the outfit because "I want those sons of bitches to see what they did to Jack.".

Jackie Kennedy was not one to mince words.

Stay tuned for a special guest blogger! My wife is coming out of journalistic retirement and she is coming out fighting. Stay tuned for her article on the West Memphis 3.

In other news, my article on the Biscardi Bigfoot got mentioned/linked in a few other blogs. Also my brief bit on the new DHS Weather Control program got a shout-out elsewhere. I did not even know. How about that, my 15 minutes came and went and I was probably working or asleep. Typical.

Do androids eat electric beef?

North America's getting soft, *patron*, and the rest of the world is getting tough. Very, very tough. We're entering savage new times, and we're going to have to be pure and direct and strong, if we're going to survive them. KBR/Halliburton Accused of human trafficking. Kitchen slaves. All the way from Nepal.

So I guess the American farmland isn't the only place where illegal foreign workers are an issue. It seems those damned illegals are at it again. This time however, they are taking high paying jobs in the private sector, and doing so in a very insidious way.

Just recently 12 to 14 (the need to finish putting the bodies back together) illegal migrant workers decided to stow away in KBR vehicles heading over the border from Jordan into Iraq. They carefully surrendered their passports to KBR employee's after they arrived in Jordan with the promise of taking American jobs in the civilian contractor food service industry. THEN they stowed away in KBR cars going to Iraq to a military base were they would take jobs from the Americans there. Assholes!

OK, enough of that. These men were promised jobs cooking in Jordan, had their passports and identities seized, and where then shipped by KBR (a subsidiary of Halliburton) to Iraq to work for only the promise of eventually going home in areas deemed "to dangerous to risk American cooks". The plan was discovered when the convoy was attacked by Iraqi's and most of the Nepalese slaves were killed along with their captors.

Is it just me, or does this seem like a lot of trouble to go to for free kitchen labor?

Seriously. Men from Nepal abducted in Jordan and sent to Iraq to work in kitchens for Halliburton contractors? It just does not make a lot of sense. The facts are there, these men were Nepalese, they did have their passports confiscated, and they were being taken to Halliburton facilities in Iraq. Maybe a really amazingly long road trip back home to Nepal?

What the fuck?

Either way, with all the money our government keeps borrowing in our name from foreign powers to pay for The War in Iraq, you would think we don't need to abduct a bakers dozen plus one of Nepalese men for slave labor.

The Adventures of Steve Fossett Across the 8th Dimension

http://www.hemuz.org/People/Millionaire-Steve-Fossett-Found-a-Path-to-the-4th-Dimension

Steve Fossett's dead. Undead, undead, undead. Well, legally dead. But probably not dead.

You see, Steve was a test pilot, adventurer, millionaire, world record setter (116, 60 of which still stand, in 5 sports no less), and all around death-defying sort of guy. He lived large, and ate life with shining teeth as the vikings would say.

So on September 3rd, 2007 he takes off from the ranch of Barron Hilton (Paris Hiltons cranky grandfather) and goes flying out in the Nevada desert in a small two seater airplane, and is never seen again. To date no plane wreckage or corpse have been found in the search. No transponder signal from the plane, no nothing. Not even Google (via Google Earth), the Government, or the connections of Billionaire Playboy Richard Branson have found anything. Well , they found eight other airplane crash sites in the desert, but not Fossett.

Did he fake his death? Not likely. None of his accounts or assets have been accessed since his "death". His wife had him declared legally dead so she could access his half of the fortune. Several investigators remained alert to the possibility, but he had no outstanding debts or creditors hounding him. Is he dead then? Maybe, but unlikely.

What is a little weird about this is the claims he made before his death, as well as certain facts leading up to the disappearance.

In the days before his "fateful flight" he claimed to his wife and a few friends that he found some sort of passageway into another dimension in the dessert. Steve claimed it was white, and circular, and visible from the air but could move. Inside it he observed blue colored humanoids who told him strange things. He landed his plane near the opening and spoke to the blue men at length about time, space, and showed him all sorts of things that only make sense after a heavy dose of LSD and a balloon full of nitrous oxide.

So Steve goes home at 2am, tells his wife and a friend or two about this experience, they figure he's working too hard (adventurer or not, he was 63), and try to hope it doesn't happen again. A few days later he saddles up to the Hilton Ranch and has the hanger flunkies do the pre-flight on Barron's little plane that he had never flown. Which is odd, since he was paranoid and very safety conscious. He never let anyone else monkey with a plane before he flew, he also didn't bother to wear an emergency transponder watch he had. Also, he left at about 8:30 in the AM for an unspecified location in the Nevada desert, with his only explanation for going as "reconnaissance".

Steve Fossett was declared legally dead on February 15th, 2008. No body, no wreckage, no hint of what happened despite the most extensive and expensive search-and-rescue operation in history.

Creekstone Farms wants to give the government money, but Uncle Sam is having none of it. Creekstone Farms also wants to protect its customers from the horror that is Mad Cow disease, but Uncle Sam is having none of that either.

The USDA is preventing, in court, Creekstone Farms from buying (from the USDA) laboratory kits that test for Mad Cow and its human counter part Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease. The USDA is the only legal supplier of these tests, and they will not let Creekstone have them for fear that it will affect the price of beef.

Essentially the meat processing/packing/farming lobby (aka Big Meat) and the USDA are afraid that consumers will start flocking to Creekstone products (premium, specialty, and organic beef) due to their scientifically verified assurance of being Mad Cow free. So then they , Big Meat, also will have to start testing every cow for the disease, the expense of which will be passed on to the consumer. Which might result in less beef being sold.

So the logical choice of course is to bar anyone from testing any American beef's until they are foaming at the mouth with crazy and biting people.

The USDA and Big Meat don't want the US to experience the panic that hit Great Briton a few years ago when they discovered that damn near all their cows had the disease. Most of Western Europe smelled like east Texas while England dealt with its little fuck up. The lost revenue if cows were infected here on that scale would be staggering. Since losing money is not the American way, it gets swept under the rug, and hopefully all those cases that pop up in a few years will just be mistaken for early onset Alzheimer's disease, organic brain dementia, epilepsy, or some other disease thats not transmitted by USDA certified meat.

Cows infected with BSE have already been found in the US. Several hunters have contracted CJD from eating deer they killed. The USDA admits that CJD/BSE/CWD and other variants have been found in sheep, deer, and elk in the US, but not cows. Which is good, since the government and big business would never lie about something like this. Why would they?

Hungry?

An awesome book covering some of the high weirdness your tax dollars pay for. First Earth Battalion strangeness, unusual interrogation techniques, and psychic warfare. Soon to be discredited in the public eye by a fictionalized major motion picture staring George Clooney.

Adolf Hitlers surviving family, strangely enough live on an island best described as a Jewish Reservation.

William "Bill" Hitler. Weird. Apparently his (Hitlers brother) surviving children have a pact to not have children, so that old Adolf's DNA will die with them.

Speaking of Hitler, the Irish are amazing about trying to see the good in people, apparently..

That, plus being openly sympathetic to the Nazi cause until the Blitz is something Im sure the Irish government is happy to let slip down the memory hole. Hey, everyone makes mistakes. I used to wear a t-shirt that said "I <3 Pol Pot". Who knew?

BONUS Octopus & Squid finally being seen for the intelligent creatures they are! Sadly, still yummy.

That is all for now. Enjoy!

Back Issue "High Weirdness by E-Mail [vol. 2, #2]"

Its all deep politics, black ops, and religious weirdo's this time. Sounds like a decent weekend to me.

Do you "Love the Cocaine"? The CIA sure does.

A lot of links on this one, but its a fun one. So it goes the web of obfuscation inherit to the world of "deep black" intelligence operations. What picture is painted seems to be a plane (Gulfstream II, a very nice and rather large sort of private jet) packed with a Mexican pilot (with a history of drug running and assorted shady dealings), 3-4 possible CIA agents (possible ICE agents, but the initial reports said CIA, due I think to the plane being rather easily traced back to them), and nearly 4 tons of high grade pure Colombian party favors crashed in Mexico. The pilot and agents survived and scattered quickly, leaving the coke and a ton of questions behind.
The plane was being used for the "Extraordinary Rendition" program before this, so why is it running drugs to the US instead of terrorism suspects to secret prisons? With only a small bit of the puzzle its impossible to say, but one can speculate...

CIA Cocaine? In my inner cities? Its more likely than you think.

http://www.pbs.org/newshour/forum/october96/crack_contra_11-1.html

One possible use for it. Back in the day (read: the 1980's) one very industrious CIA backed dealer managed to move 4 tons of cocaine (and crack made from said cocaine) over a 5 year period. The company was however importing into some areas 4 tons a month. So... where was all of that extra coke going? I am wondering if their isn't some grand CIA coke depository somewhere. The Strategic National Cocaine Reserve. I imagine it to be in some undisclosed location, rising high into the air like Uncle Scrooge's Money Bin. A giant tower of pure South American powder operated like a private swimming pool for select government officials and persons of significant influence. Staffed at all times by a cadre of the finest products of sex slave mental conditioning (Project MONARCH, an offshoot of MKULTRA, fyi) and entertained by watching that video of Sly Stallone having ritual sex with the dolphin while his nubile underage sex toy looked on with a combination of drugged bewilderment and utter boredom.
Nobody parties like the CIA.

Dispatch from The Bush Ranch...on the Moon (or, rather, next to The Moonies)!
http://www.iapprovethismessiah.com/2004/10/paraguayans-accuse-moon-of-carving-out.html

So here is an odd pair. There are more links, but after the last two I figured my dear readers needed a break. Anyways, The Bush Family and the Rev. Moon have both purchased giant pieces of land in Paraguay (600,000 for the Moonies, 100,000 for the Bush family). Of all the places in the world to buy giant parcels of land. It should be noted that the land sits right on top of the Guarani Aquifer, one of the largest sources of fresh drinking water on the planet. Its also a key area for both drug transportation routes and arms traffic, something the government of Paraguay has been trying to stamp out in the area unsuccessfully for over two decades. Good news though, we are now sending troops to the area, so everything should be fine soon.

The moonies say its for an ecological preserve area, Bush rep's say theirs is for a ranch. Of course. A Conneticut Yankee playing at Texas Cowboy in South America, right next to a cult leaders perfect green space preserve. You can't write weirder shit than that.
What is especially weird is how long the Moon and Bush interests have been intertwined...

http://www.voxfux.com/features/bush_child_sex_coverup/franklin.htm

Now you ask what an ancient (1989) story about child sex parties in the White House that got promptly buried (by the very next issue no less, despite witnesses, victims, credit card receipts, you know... evidence) has to do with the Bush Family/Rev. Moon thing. WELL.
The story and its evidence was exclusive to The Washington Times, a newspaper owned and overseen by the Rev. Moon. The White House of 1989 was the stomping grounds of President Reagan and Vice President George HW Bush. Former director of the CIA, oil magnate, and all around shady guy.
Nothing like the threat of going to prison for the rest of their life for fucking little kids to make someone your BFF. To say nothing of Rev. Moon toppling a large portion of the US government as well. Most people would have been killed for less than that, but its a testament to how sneaky and connected the Rev. Moon is that he managed to lay his hands on such a giant pile of dirty laundry.
In the mid 1990's Rev. Moon and George Bush the Elder toured all over South America together as part of a "Bring Jesus to the Heathen Indians and Idolater Catholics Campaign", a favor Bush was paid around a hundred grand for. Another speaking engagement at a Moon event in London netted him 1.5 million British pounds. BFF.
They do have a lot in common other than business matters, at least in terms of how their kids turned out.

Now days Neil Bush, another son, is the point of contact with Rev. Moon.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neil_Bush

As an aside, when Hurricane Katrina struck Barbara Bush , Neil's mommy, made her usual round of cold, nearly sociopathic remarks. Called to task for it she hastily donated some money to the Bush-Clinton relief fund. Though all the money was marked specifically to be used to buy software from Neil Bush's company. Because if anyone needs money for Katrina relief its a Bush kids company based in Austin, Texas.

Not much to say really. Kerry promised to "fight and fight and fight some more" but threw in the towel pretty quick. What do you expect when both men get their marching orders from the same people.

Well, that is all for today. Enjoy the 4th! Its all political, except for the she male, but it is the 4th of July.
